AUTUMN

AUTUMN

I love Autumn. I love the colours of Autumn and the smell and crispness of the air.  I delight in crunching leaves under my feet (I regress to a five-year old around this…so says my partner ?).

Autumn to me denotes new beginnings – it always feels like “the beginning of the year” – whether I am engaging in school studies makes no difference to me, the sense of embracing new opportunity and learning is somehow more present for me in Autumn.

I think of Autumn as a time of reflection.  I feel fortunate to live in a part of the world that experiences 4 distinct seasons, for they all come with their own unique gifts.  Autumn allows for me to reflect on where I have been, embrace where I am, and create exciting goals for my future.

Autumn feels like a time of transformance.  A time to appreciate the wisdom and resiliency that is cultivated from having experienced life’s difficulties, and making a conscious choice to be empowered by embracing those challenges as gifts of growth.  We do need the dark to appreciate the light.

TRANSFORMANCE

In the midst of hate, I found that there was within me, an invincible love

In the midst of tears, I found there was within me, an invincible smile

In the midst of chaos, I found there was within me, an invincible calm

I realized that through it all….

In the midst of winter, I found there was within me and invincible summer

And that made me happy

For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there is something stronger – something better, pushing right back

(Albert Camus)

Happy Autumn, y’all.  Feel free to share your favorite season and why in the comments section ?
